Using RentZero
These terms apply to the RentZero website and app, operated by RentZero. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and acknowledge our privacy policy. Use RentZero only if you are at least 18 and can enter the agreements applicable to your rental.
A rental platform
RentZero connects owners and tenants for rooms, flats, houses, apartments, buildings, shops, offices and other lawful rental spaces. We do not offer property sales or act as a party to your rental agreement. We do not collect rent, deposits or booking payments through the app, or guarantee a listing, visit, owner, tenant or rental outcome.
Fees
Creating an account, browsing properties, publishing listings, saving properties and sending visit requests currently have no RentZero platform fee. Rent, deposits, utilities and any other agreed rental charges remain payable under your agreement with the other party. We will explain any future platform pricing before it applies; the current app has no subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Your account
Provide accurate information and keep your password private. Choose an owner account to manage properties you own or are authorised to list, or a tenant account to save properties and send requests. You are responsible for activity you authorise through your account. Contact support if you suspect misuse.
Listings and content
Owners must have authority to offer the property for rent and provide accurate prices, availability, amenities, descriptions and photos. Keep listings current and disclose material conditions. Upload only content you have the right to share, without exposing others’ private information. You give RentZero permission to store and display that content to operate the service while it is hosted here.
Do not post fraudulent, unlawful, misleading, abusive, discriminatory or sexually explicit content, impersonate others, send spam, scrape private account information, upload malicious files or interfere with the service. Rental preferences must comply with applicable law and must not be used for unlawful discrimination.
Visits and agreements
A visit request and an owner’s acceptance arrange communication; they do not reserve a property or create a lease. Verify the property and the other party, inspect the space, and agree the rent, deposit, amenities, notice period and other terms in writing. Reporting problems
Use the report form to flag a listing, user, copyright issue or suspected fraud. Include the property title or ID and what happened. We may review and restrict accounts or remove content that violates these terms. Requests are handled through support; reports are not an emergency service.
Availability and responsibility
We work to keep the service useful but cannot promise uninterrupted availability, perfectly accurate user content or that every request will receive a reply. Take care before relying on listing information or transferring money. To the extent permitted by applicable law, RentZero is not responsible for disputes, property conditions or losses arising from agreements between owners and tenants. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.
Leaving the service
You may stop using RentZero at any time. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account. Use Delete account or the option in the app to remove it and associated data. Deletion cannot cancel obligations in a rental agreement you entered with another person.
Changes and contact
